Once upon a time in the future, an unexpected solar flare surges planet Earth's magnetic field. An android bot performing orbital satellite repairs subsequently experiences a sudden loss of battery power. The android's rotors momentarily fall out of balance as the bot performs maintenance on a faulty transponder. The jolt in motion causes the bot's industrial soldering iron to puncture the android's own internal circuitry. Distortion fires through the bot's pre-programmed synapses.
